Jerry Dean Houston, Sr., 80, of Wanchese, NC died on Wednesday, July 13, 2022, at Peak Resources – Outer Banks.
Born in Transylvania County on September 29, 1941, he was the son of the late Mary Lee Kennedy and Marvin Houston.
In 1955, Jerry migrated to the Outer Banks where he met his sweetheart of 63 years, Gail Brothers. After they wed, Jerry and Gail moved to Grifton, NC where he worked for DuPont and grew the family business of Houston Heating and Air with his two sons. He would retire from DuPont after 34 years of service. Jerry enjoyed fishing, quail hunting, and golfing.
Jerry is survived by his wife, Gail Brothers Houston; two sons, Brett Houston (Jessica) and Michael Houston (Felicia); four grandchildren, Mitchell (Maegan), Matt, Blake, and Brittany; a brother, Randie Houston (Sharell).
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, Jerry Dean Houston, Jr.
A graveside funeral service will be held at 1:00 pm on Saturday, July 16, 2022, at Evergreen Memorial Estates, 5971 Dudley Road, Grifton, NC 28530 with Benny O’Neal officiating.
