Jean Seehorn Hopkins

Jean Seehorn Hopkins, 87, of Kitty Hawk, NC died Saturday, December 5, 2020, at Spring Arbor of The Outer Banks. Born in Tennessee on January 23, 1933, she was the daughter of the late Anna Ruth Madron Seehorn and Noah Reed Seehorn.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Lou Hopkins; and siblings, Mary Earl Hawkins and Fredrick Seehorn.

Jean is survived by a daughter, Jo Hopkins Whitehead of Kitty Hawk, NC; two grandchildren, Katie and John; and a sister, Betty Sue Hadra of Richmond, VA.

Active in her community in Norfolk, Jean served as president for the Suburban Junior Women’s Club. She was devoted to supporting Children’s Hospital of King’s Daughters serving as co-chairman of the Festival of Trees, member of the Margaret Roper Moss Circle and very involved in the annual Holly Ball. Before retiring to the Outer Banks, Jean and her husband owned and operated Tidewater Port Services, Inc.

A memorial service will be held at a later date.
