December 22, 1994 – September 3, 2020
Asheville, NC

Leaving this world on Thursday, September 3, 2020, of a sudden health issue, Jazania Joy Midgette reaches her eternal home which her Creator and Savior prepared ahead for her.

Jazania was born into a loving family which was primary to her heart, along with a devotion for all the artscapes of the Outer Banks, which was her heritage, joined with her Native American ties.

Her first and second cousins and extended family were as much a part of her life from her very start as were her Grandparents, Brother, Sister, Mother, and Father.

As dear to her as family were her First friends, Lasting friends, Close friends, and New friends; her Second mothers and fathers; and her Godparents, each one holding first place when it was you she was with or thinking of.

She is an artist, even still – her favorite mediums being photography and ink drawing, she deeply appreciated painting, sculpture, film and theater, music, opera, craft, dance, literature, and writing.

She was athletic, quirky, funny, well-read and traveled, kind, passionate, and generous while on earth. These are traits which go with her as she will willingly seek to assist God in painting the clouds and sunsets.

She was a life-long Christian and her only concern with heaven was that it may get boring. She loved babies, kittens, bunnies, dogs, snakes, frogs, water, the sun and moon, sea, marshlands, meadows, and mountains.

She is predeceased by her treasured Yorkie, Joy; her Granddaddy, Arval O’Neal; Uncle, Eddie O’Neal; Aunt, Sharon Powers; and Step-grandfather, Ronald Cartwright.

She is survived by her Parents, Jonna O’Neal and Robert W. Midgette, Jr.; Brother, Elijah O’Neal Midgette; Sister, Jorah Arvi Midgette; MomMom, Jazania Polly O’Neal; Granny, Joann Cartwright; Papa, Bobby Midgette; Nana, Judy Midgette; Aunts and Uncles, Sandra O’Neal, Jerald O’Neal, Joey and Virginia O’Neal, Anna Carhill, Cindy Cartwright, Susan McKnown, and Byron Wilson.

A funeral service will be held at Fair Haven United Methodist Church on Tradewinds Road in Rodanthe (of which she was a member) on Saturday, September 12, 2020, at 2:00 pm. The church will open for viewing and visitation at 10:00 am on Saturday, September 12, 2020. Private burial will take place in the O’Neal family cemetery in Rodanthe.

Pallbearers are Eddie O’Neal II, Jerald O’Neal II, Joey O’Neal II, Justin O’Neal, Ian O’Neal, Shae O’Neal, Benjamin Midgette, Keegan O’Neal, Samuel Jenkins, and Owen O’Neal.

In lieu of flowers, be kind to troubled people wherever and whenever you find them; and if able to contribute, do so to hunger/poverty relief or in support of the arts and environmental/humane conservation.
