Manteo High School’s Jamie Holton made history on National Signing Day, becoming the first Redskins volleyball player to sign a national letter of intent to play for a NCAA Division One program as she announced she will be headed to The Citadel next fall under a full scholarship.

Holton was named first team All-Northeastern Coastal Conference, American Volleyball Coaches Association All-Region Team, AVCA’s Best and Brightest Team and was a NCHSAA Performer of the Week in August.

“Jamie shows the true spirit of a Redskin athlete and we are so proud of her accomplishments,” said Manteo coach Heather Sulkowski. “We wish her luck at The Citadel, though she won’t need it with her skills and athleticism. Thank you for putting your heart and soul on the volleyball court here at MHS.”
