Jacqueline “Jackie” Lynn Ward, 60, of Chesapeake, VA died Thursday, July 1, 2021, in Moyock, NC.
Born in Norfolk, VA on September 15, 1960, she was the daughter of the late Grace Doris Price Ward and Augustus Sutton Ward.
Jackie was a graduate of Indian River High School and worked on the assembly line at 1st Data Resources.
First and foremost, she loved her Lord and Savior. Jackie loved her family unconditionally and she found joy in caring for her pets. Throughout the years, she was a contributor and volunteer for the SPCA and an animal advocate who rescued cats in her community.
Jackie is survived by her siblings, Sara Navarro of Moyock, NC, Peggy Twiford of Chesapeake, VA, and Gus Ward, Jr. (Jeannie) of Powells Point, NC; sister-in-law, Wendy Ward of Poplar Branch, NC; nieces and nephews, Rochelle Zemborian (Andy), Chris Ward (Kenna), Tyler Ward, Joy Rainwater (Danny), Tucker Ward, Terri Odom (Tim), Cassie Lewis (Jeff), Nikki Stodden (Brett), Tracy Turner (John), and William Twiford (Jennifer); and many great-nieces, great-nephews, and cousins.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, Henry “Rip” Ward; and a niece, Jennifer Ward.
A funeral service will be held at 11:00 am on Thursday, July 8, 2021, at Twiford Colony Chapel, Manteo, NC. A graveside committal will follow at Manteo Cemetery.
