Four seats were up for grabs on the Dare County Board of Commissioners, with each current member signing up for a chance at another term.
With all 16 Dare County precincts reporting, the incumbent Republicans held off challenges from Democratic opponents.
Board chairman and District 2 Republican Bob Woodard took 60.29% of the vote to Democrat Amanda Walters 39.71%. Both are from Kill Devil Hills. District 3 incumbent Steve House won 59.63% of the vote to Kathy McCullough-Testa’s 40.37%.
District 1 commissioner Wally Overman of Manteo and District 4 commissioner Danny Couch from Buxton were unopposed.
