The Town of Kill Devil Hills is reminding beach-goers to take into account their pet’s well-being as the weather begins to heat up along the Outer Banks.
The Town offers the following mantra: If you are hot, your pets are too!
To ensure that your pampered pooch and/or feline friends are properly cared for, adhere to the following tips:
- Have plenty of cool water and access to comfortable shade when you go outside.
- Never leave pets in a closed car on a warm day.
- Asphalt and dark pavement can be very hot to your pet’s feet and could cause serious injuries.
