A high rip current risk continues today, Monday, July 11, at the following beaches: Duck, Southern Shores, Kitty Hawk, Kill Devil Hills, Nags Head, Pea Island, Rodanthe, Waves, Salvo, Avon, and Buxton.

Low rip current risks are south of Cape Hatteras including Frisco, Hatteras Village, & Ocracoke. While the risk for rip currents is low, life-threatening rip currents may still be present. Remember LOW risk does not mean NO risk!

Strongest rip currents often occur a couple hours either side of low tide, which is around 11:25 a.m. today.

Remember to obey the red flags and stay out of the water. If help is needed, call 911.
