Outer Banks Hotline has announced Heather Chavez as acting executive director, effective immediately.
Chavez has been with the organization since 2013, and currently serves on the administrative staff as a client advocate.
In a brief press release issued Saturday, the organization also announced Michael Lewis was placed on administrative leave effective July 22.
The Outer Banks Hotline board previously announced that Lewis was retiring following nearly two decades with the organization. The following week, The Outer Banks Voice reported allegations of sexual harassment have since surfaced against Lewis.
