Further work is needed to correct an issue at a transmission pole along Pea Island that caused Sunday’s power outages on Hatteras and Ocracoke islands, and there will be a scheduled outage tonight.
Cape Hatteras Electric Cooperative said a broken guy wire had to be removed from the transmission lines after power was knocked out yesterday afternoon.
Areas south of Oregon Inlet will have an outage lasting up to one hour beginning at midnight.
