Updated, Tuesday 5 p.m.: Crews have completed the work tying in the new lines on Pea Island, and full power to the islands has been restored.
Earlier story: Cape Hatteras Electric Cooperative will require planned power outages in Avon and the Tri-villages on Tuesday, April 28, as crews will work to connect to the new transmission line near the Pea Island Visitors Center.
The power outage schedule for Tuesday is as follows:
- Rodanthe, Waves, Salvo, and Avon will experience two 30-minute outages at 7:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m.
- Hatteras and Ocracoke Islands will be served by limited diesel generators during this time. Please make reasonable efforts to conserve electric use.
