Harriet Victoria “Vicki” Thompson

Harriet Victoria “Vicki” Robinson Thompson, age 74, passed away peacefully on June 25, 2023 in Myrtle Beach, SC. She was born on July 4, 1948 in Leesburg, VA to the late Harry Martin Robinson and Esther Victoria Sereno Robinson. She was the beloved wife of Harry Morris Thompson III.

Vicki was dedicated to her career as a Budget Analyst for the CIA until her retirement. Her meticulousness and attention to detail made her an invaluable asset in her field. Outside of work, she found solace and joy in her hobbies of quilting and gardening. Vicki thoroughly enjoyed being a DJ, clogging with the Bull Run Cloggers, and country western dancing. Vicki was an active member of several organizations including the Colonial Quilt Lovers Guild, the Cotton-Picking Divas, and the Currituck Master Gardeners. These communities allowed her to connect with others who shared her passions and fostered lifelong friendships.

Vicki is survived by her loving husband, Harry, who stood by her side throughout their fifty-five-year journey together. She leaves behind cherished memories for her daughter, Christine Paige Thornton (Tracy), her sons Andrew Brian Thompson, Sr. (Kathie) and Michael Joseph Thompson (Linda), her sisters Sandra Gail Jeckell (James) and Lois Robinson Sines (Paul), as well as her adored grandchildren, Drew, Corey, Caleb, Kailey, and Reese. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by a sister, Shirley Ann Kosma.

Services to honor and celebrate Vicki’s life will be held at 2:30 p.m. on Monday, July 3, 2023 at Holy Family Catholic Church, 1453 N. Road Street, Elizabeth City, NC 27909 with Father Alex officiating.  A visitation will be held on Sunday, July 2, 2023, from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. at Twiford Memorial Chapel. 

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the SPCA of Northeastern NC, located at 102 Enterprise Drive, Elizabeth City, NC 27909, or to the charity of one’s choice.
