Between two branches of the Dare County Library system — the Manteo Library and the Kill Devil Hills Library — three spooky-themed events will be held for children during the month of October. The events include drive-thru trunk-or-treating, as well as a Halloween makeup class. Details for each of the events are as follows:

Halloween Makeup Class at the Kill Devil Hills Library

When: Wednesday, October 8, 3 p.m. to 4 p.m.

Location: Kill Devil Hills Library meeting room

Join Miss Donna for some fun with Halloween makeup. Grades 2-5 are invited, but Miss Donna will welcome any older students too! We will learn how to make glass shards stick out of heads, scars and other creepy special effects. Come to the library as yourself and leave a ghastly mess!

Drive-Thru Trunk-or-Treat at the Manteo Library

When: Wednesday, October 26, 4 p.m. to 6 p.m.

Location: Manteo Library Parking lot

We invite families to come in-or out-of costume for this free event. Roanoke Island Fire Dept and Children and Youth Partnership of Dare County will be here as well as your Library staff! Costumes may include an Astronaut, Escargot the snail, the Little Blue Truck, Paw Patrol and Red Riding Hood! Come see us for this quick drive-thru!

Family Storytime Halloween Drive-Thru Parade at the Kill Devil Hills Library

When: Wednesday, October 26, 5 p.m. to 6:30 p.m.

Location: Kill Devil Hills Library parking lot

Line up in the Kill Devil Hills Library parking lot from 5 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. for drive-thru trick-or-treat fun! The librarians will be ready to feed your little monsters some candy and creepy Halloween activities! Come in costume and let the Kill Devil Hills Library make your Halloween extra Spookalicious! It’s fun for all ages!
