Gloria Jean Smith Jump, 78, of Manns Harbor, NC died Monday, August 22, 2022, at Vidant Medical Center, Greenville, NC.
Born in Cumberland, MD on August 29, 1943, she was the daughter of the late Rosella Sweitzer Smith and James Smith.
Gloria is survived by her husband, Robert Jump; four daughters, Tammy Murphy (Terry) of Tennessee, Donna Walston (Ashley) of Manns Harbor, NC, Deborah Sawyer (Ronald) of Fremont, NC, and Dawn Midgett (Ezekiel, Jr.) of Raleigh, NC; four grandchildren, Erica Jump of Manns Harbor, NC, Robie Walston (Ashley) of Manns Harbor, NC, JR Murphy (Lovi’sa) of Tennessee, and Katie Midgett of Raleigh, NC; one great-grandchild, Ka’el Carver of Raleigh, NC; and three siblings, Marleen DeRosa of Maryland, Art Smith (Cherie) of Maryland, and Caroline Newbill of Maryland.
In addition to her parents, Gloria was preceded in death by a daughter, Barbara Jean Jump; brother, Ronald Smith; one sister-in-law, Gale Smith; and two brothers-in-law, Jack DeRosa and Kip Newbill.
A memorial service will be held at 2:00 pm on Friday, August 26, 2022, at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, 3342 S Buccaneer Drive, Nags Head, NC 27959.
