George Alfred Byberg, Jr., age 62, of Camden, NC died on Tuesday, May 25, 2021 at his residence. Born in Pensacola, FL on August 8, 1958 to the late George Alfred Byberg and Patricia Maines Byberg, he was the husband of Gail Bearstler Byberg of the home. He served his country honorably in the U. S. Navy for thirty years working in aviation maintenance, and, after his retirement, went on to work at the U. S. Coast Guard base for fifteen years. A great Mustang enthusiast (his was red), he also enjoyed collecting model cars. He loved his family and was Bubba to his beloved granddaughter. He will be greatly missed.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by his daughter, Jenny Chambers (James) of Chesapeake, VA; a son, Christian Byberg of Camden, NC; two sisters, Bridgette Purrington (Mark) of MA and Pat Julien (Mike) of MI; two brothers, Mark Byberg (Mary) of MI and Peter Byberg (Sharon) also of MI; a grandchild, Ashlynn Meadow Chambers; and a niece who was like a daughter to him, Brittany Rabuck (Ron).
A memorial service will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday, June 19, 2021 at Twiford Memorial Chapel with Pastor Mike Collins, Pastor Greg Owens and Pastor John Dupont officiating. Military honors rendered by the U.S. Navy and the William Clarence Jackson VFW Post #6060. A private inurnment will be held at Albert G. Horton, Jr. Memorial Veterans Cemetery.
