Friends of Jockey’s Ridge launch NC specialty license plate campaign

The Friends of Jockey’s Ridge, the nonprofit fundraising partner for Jockey’s Ridge State Park, has launched a campaign to develop a specialty North Carolina license plate to help continue to preserve and protect the treasure that is Jockey’s Ridge State Park.

The new Friends of Jockey’s Ridge license plate, designed by BN Design & Advertising in Kill Devil Hills, NC, will feature a stunning dune and sunset image by long-time Outer Banks and nature photographer, Ray Matthews, and the Friends of Jockey’s Ridge logo.

Applications and detailed program information are available at http://www.friendsofjockeysridge.org/licenseplate or by email at friendsofjockeysridge@gmail.com.

The Friends of Jockey’s Ridge specialty plate costs $30 annually in addition to standard registration fees. Of this, $20 is forwarded to the Friends of Jockey’s Ridge and $10 remains with the NCDMV for program administration. Personalized plates are available for an additional fee.

The Friends of Jockey’s Ridge needs to obtain 500 complete applications by December 31, 2023 in order to move forward with this program.

The Friends of Jockey’s Ridge is a nonprofit organization established in 1990 for the support and maintenance of programs and the development of facilities of Jockey’s Ridge State Park.
