Free workshop to offer pruning tips on ornamental trees, shrubs

N.C. Cooperative Extension, Currituck County Center will present a workshop for both professionals and homeowners who want to learn how to properly prune their ornamental trees and shrubs. Join us on Wednesday, February 22nd from 1:00 to 2:45 P.M. Register online for this free workshop at https://pruning.eventbrite.com.

The workshop will cover when, why, and how to prune; tree assessment, proper cuts, developing good branching habits, looking for defects, and correcting problems. Working on real trees in the field will help participants improve these important skills.  We will host a lecture followed by an in-person, hands-on portion to the class, where participants will have an opportunity to prune a tree or shrub on the premises, with staff available to assist you every step of the way! We have a limited number of pruning saws available for use, so please bring your own if possible.

If you have any questions or need accommodations for persons with disabilities please contact Chris Blaha at (252) 232-2261 or by email at ctblaha@ncsu.edu no later than 10 business days before class.
