Free tree planting demonstration offered in Moyock on April 8

[Submitted/N.C. Cooperative Extension]

Local trees are struggling! Environmental stresses are compounded when trees are planted incorrectly. Mulch “volcanoes” and trees planted too deep are common issues we come across when diagnosing tree problems, especially older trees. Trees that are planted correctly will have reduced stress, improved overall health, and increased longevity.

If you want to learn how to correctly plant and care for trees, join the Currituck County Extension Master GardenerSM volunteers for a free tree planting demonstration. The event will be held beside the pavilion at Shingle Landing Park, 219 Arrow Head Ln. Moyock, 27958 on Saturday, April 8, at 9:00 a.m. Register for this event at https://treeplantingdemo.eventbrite.com

If you have questions about the class, or if you need accommodations for persons with disabilities please contact Chris Blaha at 252-232-2262 or email ctblaha@ncsu.edu no later than ten business days before the event.
