The Town of Duck says they now have at least tentative dates for when their stretch of beach north of the Army Corps of Engineers Research Pier will be renourished this year.

Weeks Marine informed the Town of Duck on Monday that they plan to start in early to mid August, with a projected completion of late August or early September for the beach running from off Skimmer Way to the end of Spindrift Lane.

“This schedule remains tentative and is subject to various factors including weather conditions and unforeseen delays. As the project progresses towards Duck, we will provide updates from the contractors,” according to a post on the town’s website.

There has been no official word as of Monday afternoon from Southern Shores, Kitty Hawk and Kill Devil Hills regarding when Weeks Marine will be working on their part of the 2022 project.

Great Lakes Dock and Dredge will be handling the projects off South Nags Head, Avon and Buxton, which are also scheduled to begin in late spring and run into early fall.

The latest updates will be posted on Dare County’s beach nourishment information website, MoreBeachToLove.com.
