The first positive case of COIVD-19 in a Dare County resident has been confirmed by local health officials. But the person, who has fully recovered from the coronavirus, has been out-of-state since last fall.
Dare County’s Division of Public Health announced Wednesday that the individual remains in another state and has not traveled to North Carolina since the fall of 2019.
This case will show up in data that is produced daily by the North Carolina Department of Health and Human Services as the first from Dare County under statistical criteria for tracking illnesses, because the individual provided a Dare County address when tested.
Two previous cases are not being reported on the NCDHHS COVID-19 case webpage, because those patients provided addresses that were from outside Dare County at the time of their test.
