An early morning fire destroyed a detached garage and heavily damaged a home in northern Currituck County.
Crews from the Crawford Volunteer Fire Department were called to the 200 block of East Ridge Road near Sligo at 4:16 a.m. Thursday.
Upon arrival, they found the garage fully involved and the fire had spread to the adjacent home before it could be extinguished.
No injuries were reported, and the cause is under investigation by the Currituck County Sherriff’s Office.
Assisting with the response were fire departments from Moyock, Lower Currituck and South Camden, and Currituck Fire and EMS.
