Firefighters from across the Outer Banks battled a two-alarm fire Tuesday evening on Sunnyside Lane on Roanoke Island.
Crews were called to the scene about 7:30 p.m. with fire and smoke showing on arrival.
Witnesses said smoke was thick on northern Roanoke Island and could be seen as far away as Nags Head.
Scanner traffic indicated that anyone who was inside at the time the fire started had been accounted for. There was no immediate word on injuries.
