Faye Dykstra Austin, 81, of Manteo, NC passed away Tuesday, August 3, 2021, at Sentara Leigh Hospital in Norfolk, VA.
Faye was the daughter of the late George and Ruth Brothers Dykstra of Manteo, NC. She was employed with Westvaco, NC State Shipyard, County of Dare, and a retiree of Dare County Schools.
Faye is survived by Gene Everett of the home; daughter, Deanie Midgett (Timmy); son, Jay Austin (Renee); two granddaughters, Brittney Midgett and Kelsey Oglesby (Jonathan); and two great-grandsons, Wyatt and Windsor Oglesby. Also, survived is her beloved dog, Tuie and granddog, Skol.
She enjoyed fishing, spending time with family, and telling stories of the fun and special times she had growing up at the family-owned Dyke’s Marina.
A funeral service will be held at 3:00 pm on Friday, August 6, 2021, at Twiford Colony Chapel. Private burial will take place in Cudworth Cemetery.
