Join the Northern Site Manager for a 1-mile guided hike through one of the largest tracts of bald cypress on the Outer Banks. The hike will start at Kitty Hawk Park (900 W. Kitty Hawk Road) at 5:30 p.m. on Monday, October 30th.
We may get lucky and hear the howl of a coyote or the hoot of an owl as we take an out-and-back hike across the connector boardwalk to the Birch Lane Trail. Participants will learn about the Reserve, the plants and animals that are protected by it, and hopefully catch a glimpse of the critters that become lively at dusk.
Hunting season is open, so staff recommend wearing blaze orange for the hike.
