Edna Polston Jessup, age 85, went to be with the Lord on Sunday, November 3, 2019.
She was born in Cheraw, SC, the daughter of the late Nellie and John Polston. Edna was predeceased by her husband of 64 years, Norman, her brothers, Howard and James Polston and her sisters, Rose Smith, Helen Dail and Margaret Townsend and daughter Denise (Michael) Fedock. She is survived by her son Norman Leo Jr. (Jill) Jessup, daughters, Norma (Rusty) Carter and Cheryl (John) Huggins, as well as six grandchildren, Tyler (Debbie) Jessup, Todd (Hayes) Jessup, Heather (Shannon) Schneider, Adrian Allred, Megan (John Martin) Moskowitz, Ashlyn (Jesse) Brinkley and nine great-grandchildren.
Edna had an enduring love for her husband, family, and friends and will be greatly missed by all whose lives she touched. She was a faithful member of Duck United Methodist Church and enjoyed perfecting her craft of painting.
The family would like to give thanks to the Town of Duck Fire Department and Police Department for the compassionate care given to their mother.
A service to celebrate Edna’s life will be held at 2:00 p.m. Thursday, November 7, 2019, at Duck United Methodist Church at 1214 Duck Road in Duck, NC with Pastor Chris Aydlett officiating. The family will receive guests in the church fellowship hall following the service.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be given in Edna’s name to Duck United Methodist Church, Duck UMC, P.O. Box 8010, Duck, NC 27949.
