Dusten William Abbott, 40, of Manteo, NC, passed away suddenly Thursday, January 27, 2022. Dusten was born September 30, 1981 in Edenton, NC. He was the son of Ray Abbott, Sr. and Michelle Congleton.
Dusten had great love for being on the water. He grew up beach fishing with the whole family. Dusten’s love of fishing led him to become a commercial fisherman. He did everything from long lining to working on trawl boats. But most of all- he was always ready to go shrimping, which he enjoyed tremendously. Dusten had a heart of gold. He was always there to lend a helping hand to anyone in need who needed help. The love he had for his family and kids was far and wide.
In addition to his parents, Dusten is survived by his son, Ean William Abbott and his daughter, Madison Brooke Abbott; his brothers, Douglas Ray Abbott (Lara), Shannon Abbott (Sherri), Ray Abbott, Jr. (Brandi), Cliff Abbott (Carley) and their daughter, Caylin Abbott; and his sister Penny Marie “Sis” Abbott (Nate Midgett).
The family will honor Dusten’s preference for cremation. Plans for his celebration of life are pending. Details will be announced soon.
