Dominion Power will be transferring service to the new lines running along the Nags Head Causeway on Wednesday morning, which will require an outage of up to one hour for customers.
During the outage scheduled for 9 a.m., Nags Head police will be directing traffic at Whalebone Junction while the traffic signals are turned off at the U.S. 158/U.S. 64/N.C. 12 intersection.
42 wooden poles are being removed and replaced with 37 new galvanized steel poles for service to customers on the causeway and a new underground line to feed power to Roanoke Island and the Dare County mainland.
