David Floyd Owens, age 60, of Camden, NC died on Monday, September 6, 2021 at Vidant Medical Center in Greenville.
Born in Elizabeth City, NC on August 19, 1961 to the late Floid Edward Owens and Arnette Brite Owens, he was the husband of Nicole “Nikki” Petrauskis Owens. David was a sales representative for Road King Trailers.
He ran the A and B stock Hydro Boats located at the Camden Shipyard Landing (in the waters of the Pasquotank River) for numerous years during the mid-2000s. He formerly served on the Board of Directors and was still currently active in the Albemarle Area 4-H Livestock Show and Sale. David was current president of the Albemarle Area Circuit Show, a part of the Eastern Carolina Showmanship Circuit, and was also a past member of the Camden County 4-H Foundation.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by his daughter, Mary Katherine Owens; his son, John Edward Owens; his sisters, Kitty Games (Billy) of Camden, NC, Janet Cartwright (John) of Saluda, VA, Floyd Dean Dail of Camden, NC, and Linda Lowry of Elizabeth City, NC; and his four-legged friend, Missy.
A funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Monday, September 13, 2021 at Corinth Baptist Church with the Rev. Chad Thomas officiating. Burial will follow in Old Hollywood Cemetery. A visitation will be held at Twiford Memorial Chapel on Sunday evening from 5:00 – 6:30 p.m. The family will receive friends at the residence at all other times.
