Following it’s two-year hiatus due to COVID-19 precautions, Dare Day(s) is back and better than ever with not just one, but a total of THREE days for locals and visitors alike to showcase and celebrate the great community, its diverse culture, and rich history.

The Day Days celebration will kick off Friday, June 3 and run through Sunday, June 5th, promising a fun-filled array of activities and vendors for the entire family to enjoy. The eventful day-by-day weekend schedule is as follows:

  • Friday, June 3, 2022: The first of three days will begin at the new College of the Albemarle (COA) Dare Campus from 6:00 to 10:00 PM.  The doors to the campus will be open to showcase the various programs they offer for a quality education. Lawn chairs and fuzzy blankets are recommended for those wanting to spread out on the grassy knolls while enjoying treats from local food trucks and jamming out to local bands. Make sure to follow the sidewalk downtown to continue experiencing the Town of Manteo at the First Friday festivities as well.
  • Saturday, June 4, 2022: The following day will take place from 10:00 AM to 5:00 PM at the Roanoke Island Festival Park in downtown Manteo. Family and friends will be able to check out the variety of craft and food vendors, music, live entertainment, lawn games, and a great kids corner. High school bands, local dancers, performers, obstacle courses, and hula hoops will also be there to provide quality entertainment.
  • Sunday, June 5, 2022: The weekend of family, friends, smiles, giggles, and wiggles will conclude from 2:00 to 4:00 PM at the Pea Island Cookhouse on Sir Walter Raleigh Street where a gospel concert is set to take place. Grab a drink at the old-fashioned lemonade stand and indulge in some sensational local sweets at the bake sales while relaxing and enjoying a wide array of music provided by local churches and other groups.

Dare Days 2022 is all about celebrating and connecting communities at the grass roots level in order to share our wonderful and diverse culture and rich history through this very special event.

Although a free event, attendants are encouraged to shop (local) and dine at the many local shops and restaurants throughout the weekend. They are also reminded to keep their receipts and exchange them during any part of the weekend’s festivities for fun gifts and prizes.
