Dare County’s daily COVID-19 dashboard reports fourth virus death

Dare County Health and Human Service’s daily COVID-19 dashboard has recorded the fourth death of a county resident due to COVID-19.

Health officials reported 19 new cases on Saturday, bring the total since testing began in March
to 884. Of those, 548 have been county residents and 336 non-residents. The current active case count among county residents is 99, with four hospitalized and now a fourth death. No details on that person have been released.

In a special video Friday, Health Director Sheila Davies said Dare County’s coronavirus cases are rising “exponentially.”

The Dare County Board of Education voted Friday to return schools to all-virtual learning again next week after 17 COVID-19 cases in schools about nearly 450 students and staff quarantining.
