Dare County’s coronavirus death toll now at 25; five residents currently hospitalized

Two more Dare County residents have died from COVID-19, bringing the death toll since the pandemic began to 25.

No additional information was provided about the deaths according to data released Monday by the Dare County Department of Health and Human Services.

41 total new cases were reported Monday, pushing the total number of resident and non-resident cases 6,489, with 4,383 of those among residents of Dare County. Five people were listed hospitalized among the 98 active cases reported Monday.

The latest weekly vaccination statistics through Nov. 28 had 69 percent of Dare County’s population fully vaccinated, while 73 percent had received at least a first dose.

8,568 new cases of coronavirus were reported statewide from Friday through Monday, a jump of 84 percent compared to the first week of November.
