The Dare County Sheriff’s Office investigated the following property crimes last month:
May 4, 2023
Larceny of Motor Vehicle. 2000 block of Colington Road, Colington. Rental vehicle reported
stolen. Vehicle was recovered outside this jurisdiction. Charges have been filed against the
suspect.
May 6, 2023
Larceny. 25000 block of NC 12 Hwy, Waves. Electric golf cart stolen by unknown individual(s).
Golf cart was located unoccupied and returned to owner.

Breaking and Entering and Larceny. 500 block of Baumtown Road, Wanchese. Subject broke
into a vacant house. Subject was apprehended inside the residence and arrested by deputies.

Breaking and Entering and Larceny. 48000 NC 12 Hwy, Buxton. Building broken into with
money stolen. Under investigation.

Breaking and Entering Motor Vehicle. 56000 block of NC 12 Hwy, Hatteras. Firearm reported
missing from an unlocked vehicle. Under investigation.

Breaking and Entering Motor Vehicle. 50000 block of Blackbeards Court, Frisco. Firearm
reported missing from an unlocked vehicle. Under investigation.

Obtaining Property by False Pretenses. 200 block Kitty Hawk Bay Drive, Colington. Money
sent to a scammer as part of a Facebook scam. Under investigation.

Breaking and Entering. 40000 block of Westerly Lane, Avon. Vacant home found to have been
broken into. Nothing reported stolen.
May 21, 2023
Armed Robbery. 100 block of Etheridge Road, Roanoke Island. Home invasion where victim
was assaulted and money and personal items were stolen. Under investigation.

Breaking and Entering Motor Vehicle. 57000 block of Atlantic View Drive, Hatteras. Firearm
reported missing from an unlocked vehicle. Under investigation.

Financial Credit Card Fraud. 40000 block of Avlona Drive, Avon. Several unauthorized
transactions on subject’s financial card. Under investigation.
May 25, 2023
Larceny of Motor Vehicle Parts. Midway Intersection, Roanoke Island. Vehicle parts removed
from a parked vehicle. Under investigation.
May 26, 2023
Assault with Deadly Weapon Inflicting Serious Injury. 100 block of Meekins Drive, Roanoke
Island. Victim was assaulted with a deadly weapon causing serious injury. Suspect was
arrested by deputies.
May 30, 2023
Financial Credit Card Fraud. 47000 block of Lost Tree Trail, Buxton. Several unauthorized
transactions on subject’s financial card. Under investigation.
May 31, 2023
Larceny of Dog. 47000 block of Rocky Rollinson Road, Buxton. Victim reported someone
removed the dog from its chain during the night. Under investigation.
