Dare County reports 15th COVID-19 death

Dare County Health and Human Services on Monday reported a 15th COVID-19 death on its daily pandemic dashboard.

Health officials have not yet released details on the latest death. The county has seen 2,075 COVID-19 cases since testing began last March, with 24 cases currently active among county residents. Among non-residents, there have been 985 positive cases since last March.

COVID-19 vaccines are now available to all North Carolina residents over 16. Last week, Gov. Roy Cooper and N.C. Health Director Mandy Cohen visited a vaccine clinic in Kill Devil Hills last week after Dare County, where more than 1,000 people received shots. Dare County has so far vaccinated about 30,000, one of the highest vaccination rates in the state.
