Dare County Library holding bookmark contest from April 1 to May 5

The Dare County Library is pleased to announce the return of its children’s bookmark contest beginning on Friday, April 1, 2022.

The contest is open to children of all ages, who will have the opportunity to pick up a blank entry form from one of the Dare County Library’s three locations and then decorate a blank bookmark with library-related pictures and/or words.

The contest will consist of four age categories—ages 2-6, ages 7-9, ages 10-13 and ages 14-18—and the winner who is selected in each category will receive a gift certificate to a local bookstore.

The Dare County Library will also print the winning bookmarks in color and make them available at the front desk of each of the libraries throughout the year.

Observed annually to coincide with National Library Week, the Dare County Library’s bookmark contest is a fun way for children to get creative and to show how much books, reading and the library mean to them.

Bookmark entries must be received by Wednesday, May 5, 2022.

To pick up an entry form for the children’s bookmark contest, stop by any of the Dare County Library’s three locations or contact the library branch in your area.
