Experience an intimate evening of storytelling through song by award-winning musicians at the Outer Banks Veterans Concert, which will be held at 7pm on Saturday, November 9 at The Pioneer Theater in downtown Manteo.

Co-founder of Soldier Songs and Voices Tony Rosario, founder of the Veterans Writing Project Ron Capps and singer-songwriter-producer Jana Pochop will take the stage together at the historic Pioneer Theater for a special song swap.

“We are three very different songwriters, but all come to the craft with a heart for telling stories through song,” said musician Jana Pochop. “The round-table format will be a joyful way to create a totally unique show for everyone. Guests can expect to enjoy a beautiful mix of indie, folk, and Americana music.”

Dare Arts is partnering with The Pioneer Theater to bring the Outer Banks Veterans Concert to Manteo.

“We are excited to coordinate with Dare Arts in hosting the upcoming Outer Banks Veterans Concert,” said owner of The Pioneer Theater Michael Basnight. “The theater is such a cool venue to experience live music in. It goes without saying we are honored to offer this experience for our active-duty military and Veterans. We are grateful for all they do on our behalf each and every day.”

Tickets to the concert are $5.00 with a military or Veteran ID and $10 for general admission. Tickets can be purchased online at ThePioneerTheater.com.

These three talented musicians are also leading the 12th Annual Outer Banks Veterans Writing Workshop, which will be held at the UNC Coastal Studies Institute on Saturday, November 9 and Sunday, November 10.

The workshop, which will focus on songwriting, is free for Veterans, active-duty military and their family members. Workshop participants will also enjoy free admission to the concert.

Registration for the writing workshop is now open at DareArts.org/veterans and space is limited.

The concert and the songwriting workshop are part of Outer Banks Veterans Week, which will take place November 4-11.

Dare Arts will be creating the Outer Banks Veterans Week calendar of events, which is a free digital directory of ceremonies, events, and specials for Veterans from Corolla to Hatteras Village.

Businesses, individuals and groups interested in listing their Veteran ceremonies, events and/or specials in the calendar of events should email DareArtsEvents@gmail.com.
