Currituck Farm Festival set for October 1

[N.C. Cooperative Extension]

Mark your calendars for Saturday, October 1st from 12:00 – 4:00 for the Currituck Farm Festival, a celebration of our agriculture heritage. This event will be held at the Currituck County Center of NC Cooperative Extension at 120 Community Way in Barco, NC.

This event was so much fun last year that N.C. Cooperative Extension has decided to expand and offer more activities, contests, and fun for the whole family! The celebration will begin with a tribute to our Currituck farm families and the annual tractor parade.

Kick off your day at the festival by grabbing a bite to eat from the food truck corral. Enjoy interactive displays and sample some local agricultural products down the educational row.

You’ll want to make sure you hang around for this year’s contests including the ever popular skillet throwing championship. Enter your canned goods, homemade crafts or garden produce ahead of time in the annual Homegrown and Handmade contest. Bring your best cornbread recipe to compete in this year’s Currituck Cornbread Challenge. Sign up in advance and build your device to participate in our first Mini Punkin’ Chunkin’ contest! Of course, you’ll still be able to enjoy the annual 4-H Chicken Show and standalone games like sack races and corn hole. Be on the lookout for pop up contests throughout the day as well.

Let N.C. Cooperative Extension know you’re coming by registering at https://currituckfarmfest22.eventbrite.com.
