Coast Guard Station Hatteras Inlet crews on Sunday night assisted a 24’ Bayliner that had lost electronics in Teaches Hole Channel with two people on board.

The crew got underway at 7:40 p.m. and began making way towards the boat’s last known position, the station said in a Facebook post.

The mariners had smartly dropped their anchor before drifting onto a shoal, the Coast Guard said.

The crew arrived on scene at 8:31 p.m. and proceeded to put them in a side tow, pull up their anchor and tow them into Silver Lake in Ocracoke where they were safely moored at 9:11 p.m.
