About the Next NC Scholarship

The Next NC Scholarship is a game changer for helping more North Carolinians pursue a degree. This new scholarship fully covers tuition and fees at any community college or more than half, if not all, of tuition and fees to attend any public university in the state. Most North Carolinians from households making $80,000 or less are eligible for this new scholarship.

That’s at least $3,000 to attend a community college or $5,000 to attend a public university that can go toward tuition, fees, books, food, and housing—and doesn’t have to be repaid.

The Next NC Scholarship combines state and federal financial aid into one predictable, easy-to-understand award that eligible students receive when they complete the FAFSA form. No additional applications are needed. Learn more at nextncscholarship.org.
