Christmas in Manteo – Celebrating all things merry and bright!

Tradition, sparkle, laughter, and goodwill all wrapped up with holiday spirit. There is something so very special about Christmas in Manteo! It is a time of festivities, celebrating community, and simply spreading Christmas cheer.

Kicking off the holiday season will be Santa coming to Town riding his very own special sleigh on Thursday, December 2, 2021 beginning at 5:30 p.m. Santa will visit Manteo neighborhoods greeting children with a wave and a great big HO HO HO!

Santa will be sharing his route this year so you can find your favorite spot along the way to see the jolly ‘ole fellow. Keep an eye out for Santa’s route coming soon.

Keeping with tradition, the Town Christmas tree will shine bright with a little bit of help from Santa at the Tree Lighting event on Friday, December 3, 2021 at 6:00 p.m.

Sing along to Christmas carols and other performances and enjoy warm brunswick stew, hot cocoa, cookie decorating, and a special guest reading of ‘Twas the Night Before Christmas in the vibrant downtown streets while you wait for Santa himself to make his big debut. Stick around afterwards and share those long wish lists with Santa, he will be waiting for you.

Join us on Saturday, December 4, 2021 at 10:30 a.m. for the annual Christmas parade! The parade route winds its way through the streets of downtown beginning at Manteo High School and ending on the other side of the new College of the Albemarle campus. See fabulous floats full of holiday cheer but most of all you will truly feel that wonderful community spirit.

And save the date for the Manteo Police Department food and coat drive on Saturday, December 18, 2021 from 10:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. joining them again this year will be the Pea Island Preservation Society.

There will be two locations where you can drop off your donations, one at Magnolia Pavilion in downtown Manteo and the other at the Pea
Island Cookhouse Museum on Sir Walter Raleigh Street.

Christmas decorations throughout town always add a little extra sparkle every year. So to add even more, we are bringing back the “Deck the Homes” and “Making Storefronts Bright” contests this year. Contest participants will be entered into random drawings for a chance to win a $100 gift card. There are three winners per contest, and contest details coming soon.

Christmas in Manteo is truly magical!
