Carova Beach Volunteer Fire and Rescue is thrilled to announce the return of its 2nd Annual Donkey Derby on Friday, July 15th at 4:30 p.m. across from the fire station at 2169 Ocean Pearl Road, 4×4 Carova.
This family-friendly event will feature over two dozen local businesses, families and organizations sponsoring a handmade, super silly “donkey” or “horse” to race around a racetrack—a real life board game—for the chance to win the Raymond Cup Trophy.
Attendees will vote for their favorite to win via raffle tickets, as well as Best of Show. Judging starts at 4:30 pm on Friday, July 15th so individuals are encouraged to come early to enjoy hotdogs, set up beach chairs and partake in a Silent Art Auction.
The proceeds collected during the event will go towards the Carova Beach Volunteer Fire and Rescue, in which Station 7 is also celebrating its 40th Anniversary this year.
