Bunnie Lou Hartlieb Daniels, age 82, of Wanchese, NC, passed away peacefully with her children by her side on September 23, 2023, at Riverside Regional Medical Center in Newport News, VA. She was born on April 13, 1941, in Detroit, MI, to the late Edna Inez White Pugh and Herman Dawson Hartlieb.

Bunnie dedicated many years of her life to her work as a librarian assistant for Dare County before her well-deserved retirement. Her commitment and passion for knowledge touched the lives of many in the community she served.

Bunnie was a woman of faith and was formerly affiliated with both Bethany United Methodist Church and Wanchese Assembly of God. Her presence was a source of comfort and support to those around her.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her grandson, Rodney Murray. Although she will be deeply missed, her memory will forever live on in the hearts of her surviving family and friends.

Bunnie will be lovingly remembered by her daughter, Rebekah Jean Forrest (Frank), and her sons, Ronald Lee Murray and Victor V. Daniels III (Tifanie). She will be deeply missed by her grandchildren, Christina Sherrod (Larry), Anthony Murray (Natalie), Sydnee Murray, Haven Etheridge (Zack), and Willie R. Etheridge V, as well as several great-grandchildren. She leaves behind her sisters, Sandy Patterson and Sherry Holmstrom, and her brother, Ronald Hartlieb.

A funeral service to honor and celebrate the life of Bunnie will be held at 2:00 pm on Sunday, October 1, 2023, at Twiford Colony Chapel. Reverend Susanna Fitch-Slater will officiate the service. Following the funeral, the family will receive friends and relatives for a reception at the home of Victor V. Daniels III.

As we mourn the loss of Bunnie, let us also celebrate the beautiful memories she created and the lives she touched. Her warm presence and kind-hearted nature will be forever missed by all who had the pleasure of knowing her. May she rest in eternal peace.
