Brian Alvis Jones

Sometime in the early hours of June 14, the world lost a genuinely good guy.  Brian Alvis Jones passed away, not long after celebrating his 49th birthday.

For more than half his life he fought a terrible disease called Wegners Granulomatosis which withered his body, took out his sinuses and sense of smell and taste, killed his kidneys, weakened his heart and, just this year alone contributed to him having to endure 3 amputations on one leg!

Surely, no other human on this planet could have endured what he did for all those years and still kept his witty and sarcastic sense of humor, strength, bravery, and optimism. He inspires us still with lasting memories of his laughter.

He is survived by 2 godsons, Adrian Lemmons and Joey Jones and their moms and Brian’s closest friends, Tess Dugas Bartz and Sheri Nakamura; his mom and dad, Kenny and Beverly Jones; sister, Kena Thompson, brother-in-law Cory Thompson and niece Keslea; great niece Adalynn; nieces Macie and Ariana; nephew Evan; nieces Aubree, Brynlee and Chesnie; and many uncles, aunts and cousins who will miss him terribly.

He was preceded in death by granddad and granny, John A. and Alice Jones, grandpa and grandma, Bill and Wilma Young and an uncle, Rusty Oldham.

A private ceremony will be held at a later date.  Twiford Memorial Chapel, 405 E. Church St., Elizabeth City, NC is assisting the Jones family. You may express condolences to the family by visiting www.TwifordFH.com.
