Beach driving closure in effect for Kill Devil Hills starting April 15

The beach in Kill Devil Hills will be closed to driving beginning on Friday, April 15, 2022, at sunset and it will remain closed through the end of the Town’s beach driving season which was scheduled to end on April 30, 2022.

The closure is needed due to the safety concern of having limited mobility for both vehicles and beach-goers to enjoy the beach simultaneously. The limited mobility is a result of numerous areas of beach erosion.

The Town is looking forward to the next beach driving season which will begin on October 1, 2022.
