Kitty Hawk- Barbara Ruth Donovan, 76, of Kitty Hawk, passed away peacefully in her sleep, July 14, 2021 with her family by her side. Barbara was born in Massachusetts, November 21, 1944 and served in the Navy Reserves as a storekeeper for over 18 years.
Barbara was married to the late Frances Charles Donovan, Jr. and was also predeceased by her parents Nana and Granddad Lawton. She spent most of her time taking care of her family, pets and playing solitaire.
Surviving Barbara is her son, James Donovan of Virginia Beach; daughter, Shannon Norton and son-in-law, Scott A. Norton of Kitty Hawk; two grandchildren, Nicholas Donovan and Curran Harmon both of Virginia Beach; great grandson, Colin Donovan of Virginia Beach; sister, Elizabeth Thompson of Virginia Beach; brother, Charles Manning of Massachusetts; nephew, Brian Grace of New Jersey and niece, Cheri Thompson of Virginia Beach. She is also survived by her special furry friend, Luna.
Services will be private. In lieu of flowers, donations in Barbara’s name may be made to Still Waters Baptist Church in Nags Head, NC.
