Barbara Martin Brite, 78, of 820 Sun Gro Drive, Elizabeth City, NC died Monday, August 3, 2020 at Sentara Princess Anne Hospital in Virginia Beach, VA.
She was born April 22, 1942 in Pasquotank County to the late Julian Bradshaw Bright and Fannie Crosby Stevenson Bright and was the wife of Miles Jessup Brite, Sr. of the home. She was a member of Evangelical Methodist Church where she served as secretary for forty-seven years.
Barbara loved her church, family, and friends. Nothing brought her more joy than serving others, especially cooking for them. She enjoyed watching ballgames with her husband and sons.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by two sons, Miles Jessup Brite, Jr. of Wilson, NC and Danny Stevenson Brite (Sharon) of Blackstock, SC; three sisters, Margorie B. Layden (Johnnie) of Elizabeth City, NC, Betty Pierce (Johnnie) of Fort Mill, SC, and Doris Sheffy of Greenfield Center, NY; a brother, Buddy Bright of Dover, DE; and many nieces and nephews.
