Arlene Turner Ward of Kill Devil Hills, NC passed away peacefully surrounded by family on February 13, 2021 at the age of 83. She was predeceased by her mother, Mattie Riggs Sawyer; her stepfather, Howard E. Sawyer; her father, Joseph Gaston Turner; and her brother, Douglas Gaston Turner.
Arlene was an educator in the Elizabeth City Public School system. She retired after many years in the Dare County School system.
Arlene is survived by her son, John Troy Ward (Alyson) of Nags Head, NC; her daughter, Linda White of Elizabeth city, NC; her grandchildren, Parker Ward, Dennis Perry, Mark Cartwright, and Claire White; and her great-granddaughter, Morgan Perry.
