Alice Skinner, 97, of Nags Head, NC passed away at her home after a long illness on May 12, 2023, surrounded by loved ones. She was born on July 12, 1925, in Robersonville, NC to Maggie and Jimmie Roberson. Alice attended the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and graduated with a degree in Government and Civic Affairs.
Alice was a devoted wife to her husband of 76 years, Tom. She was mother to her son Tom (wife Betty) and grandmother to her grandson, Thomas. Alice was also a cherished friend to many including Sis Hall of Nags Head.
Alice was a woman of great character and charm. She exuded southern warmth and kindness, and her quick wit and infectious humor will be missed by all who knew her. Alice loved to travel, play bridge, attend parties and get-togethers, and spend time with her friends in Nags Head telling stories over cocktails.
Alice was preceded in death by her parents Maggie and James Roberson. She will be forever remembered for her quick wit, good stories, and her amazing memory.
A service celebrating Alice’s life, followed by a good cocktail party will be held in the near future to honor her and the legacy she leaves behind.
