The Outer Banks Association of REALTORS® is holding their 24th Annual Charity Surf Fishing Tournament on Friday, October 15, 2021, benefiting the Association’s Disaster Relief and Scholarship funds through the Outer Banks Community Foundation.
Registration is only $200 for up to a 6-member team. The deadline for team registration is this Friday, October 8th, 2021.
“We are hoping for a great turnout this year especially since we have not been able to contribute to our funds for two years,” Surf Fishing Chair Aimee Pitts of Wells Fargo Home Mortgage said “It is going to be a great day with some awesome fishing, amazing food, and raffle prizes at the end of the day.”
Raffle tickets sold the day of the event are 1/$5 or 5/$20 and include prizes donated from local retailers and businesses throughout the Outer Banks.
Check-in begins at 6:30 a.m. at the Bonnet Street access in Nags Head with breakfast sponsored by Steven Gillis Insurance Agency. After the morning fishing session, a BBQ lunch will be provided by Wells Fargo Home Mortgage.
Throughout both fishing sessions a beverage truck sponsored by Coast Realty will navigate the beach offering refreshments to thirsty fishermen. Snacks will also be offered by Goosehead Insurance.
Pre-raffle tickets are now available for a Yeti cooler package donated by Farmer’s Daughter and Cola Vaughan Realty worth $600. The package includes a Yeti Roadie 24 and an assortment of t-shirts, hats, and Yeti drinkware. The package will be raffled at 7:15A and will be streamed live on Facebook. OBAR has provided Tickets are $10 each. This year OBAR is only selling 300 pre-raffle tickets so get them while you can!
OBAR has awarded over $253,000 to 163 local seniors over the last several years and has distributed thousands of dollars in relief to local disaster victims.
