The Coinjock Ruritan Club is procuring wildlife artists for their 18th annual Wildlife Festival on Saturday, September 7, and Sunday, September 8, 2024.
The two-day show features some of the region’s most talented and well-known artists in wildlife arts. Vendors at this years’ event will include decoy carvers, sculptors, painters, photographers and more. The show will be held at the Currituck County High School in Barco, North Carolina from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Saturday and from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Sunday. Proceeds from this event benefit local community members and organizations.
Historically Currituck County has been identified as the perfect rest stop for migratory waterfowl, earning the Algonquin name “Coratank” meaning “where the wild geese fly”. Sportsmen from all over began coming to the area for hunting in the 1800s, creating a market for wildlife art.
