The 19th annual Ellsworth B. Midgett Senior 8-Ball Tournament was held on March 4, 2022, at the Thomas A. Baum Senior Center in Kill Devil Hills.
The memorial billiard tournament—which is held each year in honor of Ellsworth Midgett—first kicked off in 2002 and has been held each March for the past 20 years, with the exception of 2021 due to COVID-19.
This year, 20 participants—along with special guests such as Ellsworth Midgett’s daughter, Christine Nunemaker—participated in the tournament. The winners of the 2022 tournament are as follows:
Women
1st place: Ellen Lee
2nd place: Susan Faudie
Men
1st place: Dick Denton
2nd place: Scott Baxter
The Ellsworth B. Midgett Senior 8-Ball Tournament is held on the first Friday in March each year. Anyone in the community who is age 50 or older is invited to participate.
